Understanding spaces. Shaping better futures.

Mohit Arya & Partners is a research-driven architecture and urbanism practice working across buildings, land and cities.

We combine architectural design, urban research, spatial analysis and sustainability to understand places, explore possibilities and create better environments.

We look beyond the building.

A building is part of something larger.

It belongs to a landscape, a neighbourhood, a city, a climate and a network of infrastructure and people.

At Mohit Arya & Partners, we look at these relationships before deciding what should be built.

Our work brings together architecture, urbanism, spatial research and environmental thinking to understand a place, identify its possibilities and shape appropriate responses.

Sometimes that means designing a building. Sometimes it means understanding a piece of land, developing a masterplan or studying a city.

We think in systems.

A building does not exist in isolation. It sits within a network of land, landscape, infrastructure, climate, people, economics and the city around it. We study these relationships before making design decisions. This systems-based approach allows us to see opportunities and constraints that may be missed when a project is considered as a building alone.

Our approach

Every project begins with understanding.

01

Observe

Site · Context · Landscape · Climate · People

Understand the physical and environmental conditions of the place.

02

Analyse

GIS · Mapping · Data · Regulations · Infrastructure

Understand the systems and constraints shaping the site.

03

Explore

Possibilities · Scenarios · Opportunities

Ask what can happen here and what should happen here.

04

Strategise

Feasibility · Planning · Masterplanning

Translate possibilities into a coherent spatial strategy.

05

Design

Architecture · Urban Design · Landscape

Turn strategy into places and buildings.

06

Perform

Energy · Water · Carbon · Resilience

Improve environmental performance and long-term value.

We can enter a project at any of these stages — from an early question about a piece of land to a fully developed architectural brief.

Questions we're asking

Can development strengthen rather than fragment the landscape?

How can climate vulnerability inform planning?

What does sustainable development mean in the Indian context?

Can architecture contribute to better and more equitable cities?

Have a place, a project or a question?

Let's begin by understanding it.
